WEB DESK: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a 10 per cent discount on Canada-Pakistan flights on the arrival of New Year’s 2025.
The special PIA discount is applicable on ticket purchases made before Dec 10. It applies to travel between Jan 11 to Mar 20, 2025.
According to PIA officials, the ‘New Year’s gift’ is meant for expatriates in Pakistan; it will reach a greater number of destinations at cheaper fares during the festive days.
PIA to boost European operations
In the coming weeks, PIA is set to resume its services to its European destinations as the European Union Aviation Safety Agency has finally lifted the ban it placed four years ago on all Pakistani carriers.
The suspension followed the 2020 crash involving PIA and after reports showed that more than 25 per cent of its pilots had dubious licenses.

The reports indicate that PIA lost Rs220 billion during the suspension. The losses of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) are also reportedly pegged at around Rs 250 billion.
Lifting the suspension is expected to make the airline financially sound and speed up the privatisation process of the airline.
