The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced substantial hikes in the fees for attesting legal documents, effective immediately.

A spokesperson clarified that attestation services for educational, legal, and commercial documents will resume on Monday, following the closure of ministry operations over the weekend.

He advised citizens to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad or liaison offices in Lahore, Karachi, and other cities for document attestation. It is pertinent to mention that the ministry has eliminated the need for prior appointments, facilitating walk-in services.

According to the revised fee schedule:

  • Attestation fees for personal or educational documents have been increased to Rs3,000 per document, up significantly from the previous Rs700.
  • The attestation fee for legal documents now stands at Rs4,500, compared to the former Rs700.
  • Similarly, the fee for attesting commercial documents has surged to Rs12,000 from the previous Rs3,000.

Documents attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remain valid for a period of 6 months. Re-attestation is required if documents are not utilized within this timeframe.
