In Lahore, fog is a common sight, particularly in the month of December; nevertheless, it is not very common in the month of February.
The citizens were caught off guard by the recent fog that appeared out of nowhere on February 1 (Saturday).
The unexpected fog not only decreased the temperature but also left people scrambling, unprepared for the weather change.
Social media was soon filled with pictures and comments as users expressed their surprise and amazement at the strange weather.
Some sections of the motorway were closed earlier because the fog was too dense to see.
As a result of the severe fog, the M3 motorway, which runs from Faizpur to Nankana Sahib, the M11 motorway that connects Lahore and Sialkot, and the M2 motorway that runs from Lahore to Hiran Minar were shut down.
Similarly, the fog also disturbed flight operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.
According to the reports, flight 402 from Karachi to Lahore and flight 724 from Dubai to Lahore were delayed as a result of the weather circumstances. In addition, flight 523, which was scheduled to depart from Lahore and arrive in Karachi, was unable to take off since the aircraft was unavailable.
