LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has recently launched the Honhaar Scholarship programme for brilliant students of the province.

The aim of this scholarship is to help those hardworking students who get good grades but face challenges like educational expenses to continue their higher education in top-ranking public and private sector universities.

Universities listed for Honhaar Scholarship

The universities to which students can apply and take admissions under the Honhaar Scholarship include Bhakkar University, Layyah University, Bahawalpur Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Bahawalpur Sadiq College Women’s University, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Mianwali University, Punjab University of Technology Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal University, Mir Chakar Khan University Dera Ghazi Khan, Ghazi University, Bahawaluddin Zakaria University Multan, and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University.

Similarly, Nishtar Medical University, Women’s University Multan, Emerson University Multan, Multan University of Science and Technology, Faisalabad Medical University, Government College University Faisalabad, Government College Women’s University Faisalabad, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Faisalabad University, University of Gujarat, Kohsar University Murree, Baba Guru Nanak University, Narowal University, Okara University, and COMSATS University Islamabad were also included in the list eligible for Honhaar Scholarship.

Students of 131 Graduate Colleges eligible for Honhaar Scholarship

Students of the 131 graduate colleges in Punjab are eligible for scholarships in the universities listed above. These colleges include Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, Amiruddin Medical College Lahore, DG Khan Medical College, de Montmorency College Lahore, Gujranwala Medical College, Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College, and Nawaz Sharif Medical College Gujarat University.

Nishtar Medical College Multan, Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi Medical College, Sahiwal Medical College, Sargodha Medical College, Services Institute of Medical Sciences Lahore, and Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahim Yar Khan were also included in the list.

Degrees offered under the Honhaar Scholarship include Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Information Network, Mobile System Application, Architecture, Cyber ​​Security, Data Sciences, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Strategic Business Management, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Genetics, Space Sciences, Business Analytics, Hospitality Analytics, Tourism Management, Agribusiness, Archaeology, and Film and Performing Arts.

Law, Human Resources, MBBS, BDS, Engineering Programmes, Business Administration, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, English, Urdu, Punjabi, Islamic Studies, Education, Agriculture, Mass Communication, Pharmacy, Veterinary Sciences, Coal Technology, Civil Technology, Electrical Technology, and Mechanical Technology courses were also offered under the scholarship.

What are the eligibility criteria for scholarships?

The students need to be residents of Punjab province. The applicant must have a Punjab domicile and should not be older than 22 years of age at the time last date of the scholarship.

Moreover, the applicant’s family income should not be more than 3 lakhs, the application should be filled only for the programmes offered. At least 80 per cent of marks in Intermediate are required for admission to the public sector and dental colleges.

Moreover, 70% marks are required for admission in science subjects in federal and private universities, while 65% marks are required for admission in Arts and Social Sciences programmes.

Similarly, 65% marks are required for admission in science subjects in HED colleges, while 60% marks are required for admission in arts and social sciences.

How much will be the scholarship percentage?

Under the Honhaar Scholarship Programme, the fees of the students who meet the merit will be paid 100% by the Punjab Government.

What is the procedure for applying?

First, you need to create an account by visiting the Honhaar Scholarship website. To create an account, you will need your identity card number, nationality, institute and email after which your account will be created.

After creating an account, log in to the account and enter your personal information, education, employment status, family members, monthly income, parents’ details, monthly expenses, transport, and all relevant documents on the application form. After all these steps, your application will be submitted for review.

Required documents

To apply for the scholarship, students are required to have documents of domicile, certificates, and recent passport-size photographs.
