DUBAI: Pakistan under 19 teams failed to set a good total against Bangladesh in the first semi-final of the U19 Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Putting into bat first, Pakistani openers failed to lay a foundation for the team. Both openers Usman Khan and Shahzaib Khan departed without scoring.
Mohammad Riazullah and captain Saad Baig attempted to resist with a 42-run partnership for the third wicket. However, the skipper’s dismissal for 18 off 41 triggered another slump.
A four-wicket haul from Iqbal Hossain Emon saw Bangladesh bowl out Pakistan for just 116 in 37 overs.
Maruf Mridha took two wicket hauls, dismissing both Pakistani openers early.
For Pakistan, Farhan Yousaf remained the top scorer. Coming at number 7, he played a resistant innings of 32 runs off 32 balls.
