Punjab Chief Minister (CM )Maryam Nawaz has personally overseen the interviews and finalised the selection of vice-chancellors for 11 universities across the province, according to sources cited by 24NewsHD TV.
Among the selected candidates, Dr. Zubair Iqbal Ghouri has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) in Multan. Dr Zubair is currently serving as the pro-rector at the NAMAL Hyderabad campus. His academic background includes an MA in English from BZU Multan, obtained between 1992 and 1995, followed by further studies at Westminster University in London and a university in Thailand.

The official notification for the appointment of the selected vice-chancellors is expected to be issued soon by the Governor of Punjab.
BZU Multan has been without a permanent vice-chancellor for nearly two years, with Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah currently serving in an acting capacity.
