Chinese investors are showing interest in setting up an electric car manufacturing plant in Punjab,Pakistan.

A delegation of Chinese investors met with Punjab’s Minister for Industry, Shafeeh Hussain, to discuss potential investments and strengthen collaboration across various sectors.

During the meeting, the investors showed their interest to establish an electric vehicle (EV) plant in Punjab. The discussion also covered increasing cooperation in technical education, agriculture, and the production of electric vehicles.

The meeting also touched opportunities to enhance cooperation in the health sector. Huawei Group from China announced its plan to offer online training to 300,000 people in Pakistan. This initiative will be implemented through a partnership between the provincial government and the company, following an agreement with the federal government.

The Minister for Industry highlighted that several Chinese companies have already invested in Punjab and emphasized the launch of the online training program in the region. He also said that the program, worth $300 million, will begin in Gujarat, with plans to create 300,000 mobile clinics under this initiative.
