ISLAMABAD: China has announced a scholarship programme for Pakistani students, offering opportunities for higher studies and research at various Chinese universities.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced that the deadline for submitting online applications is December 9, 2024. Applicants who have already obtained a valid HAT (Higher Education Aptitude Test) score (valid if obtained on or after December 9, 2022) or a USAT (Undergraduate Studies Admission Test) score (valid if obtained on or after December 9, 2023) will be eligible for the programme.
Interested applicants can submit their applications through the China Scholarship Council (CSC) portal under Category A (Agency No. 5861), available on the following websites: campuschina.org or https://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua.
The China Scholarship Council (CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is responsible for managing and administering the Chinese Government Scholarship Program.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be Pakistani or AJ&K nationals. Dual nationality holders are not eligible to apply.
Degree Requirements:
Undergraduate (Bachelor’s): Applicants must have completed intermediate/A-level/FA-FSC (12 years of education) and be under 25 years of age at the time of application.
Master’s: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) and be under 35 years of age.
PhD/Doctoral: Applicants must hold a Master’s/MS/MPhil degree and be under 40 years of age.
Test Scores: All applicants are required to submit a valid HAT (for Master’s and PhD programs) or USAT (for Undergraduate programs) score.
A minimum score of 50 out of 100 is required for both tests.
The validity of the HAT score is 2 years, while the USAT score is valid for 1 year.
Applications without the minimum required test score will not be considered.

Tuition and funding:
