Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has extended a formal invitation to India’s Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who is set to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Pakistan, urging him to participate and address the ongoing protests, aimed at strengthening governance in the country.
Barrister Saif, PTI leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor, speaking on a private news channel, invited Jaishankar to join the protest, underscoring the party’s focus on promoting constitutional rights and building Pakistan into a stronger, more democratic state. Saif remarked, “We want him to join us in the protest to ensure a robust Pakistan.”
He further extended a welcome to all delegates attending the SCO summit, stating that protestors would greet the foreign guests with open arms. Saif reiterated that, while the visiting dignitaries might be negotiating with what he called “corrupt” Pakistani leaders, the PTI recognises them as distinguished guests of the country.

Saif further stressed that PTI’s protest is unrelated to the SCO summit or any foreign visits, including that of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and noted that protests are a normal occurrence in democratic countries. “Visitors come, protests happen, and the country functions as usual. These protests have no connection to the SCO summit,” Saif clarified.
Referring to the countries participating in the SCO, including India, he pointed out that they are all democracies, and such protests reflect democratic values. He added that in those countries, protests are not obstructed by barriers such as containers, and he assured that foreign delegates would not face any discomfort during their stay.
