VENEZUELA: The Pakistan Armed Forces tri-services team has achieved a historic milestone by winning five medals at the 4th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Military Cadet Games, held in Venezuela from August 16 to 22.
This marks the first time a Pakistani Armed Forces team has won medals at the World Military Games, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released on Friday.
The Pakistani contingent competed exclusively in track, field, and shooting events. Chief Warrant Officer Mueed Baloch of the Pakistan Air Force secured the gold medal in the 400-meter race. Hailing from Karachi’s Shanti Nagar, Baloch, a national champion in both the 200-meter and 400-meter events, previously set a national record in the 400-meter with a time of 46.73 seconds. He has represented Pakistan in various international competitions and is noted for his victory in the 100-meter race at the 2018 Asian Junior Athletics Championship.

Sepoy Muhammad Akhtar of the Pakistan Army earned a bronze medal in the 5000-meter race, further enhancing the team’s achievements.
In shooting, the team of Naik Qasim Bilal, Sepoy Ismail Khan, and Sepoy Muhammad Rashid from the Pakistan Army won the silver medal in the 25-meter rapid-fire pistol shooting team event.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, along with all Services Chiefs, has extended their heartfelt congratulations to the team members for their outstanding performance.
