Pakistan Railways has announced a 10 per cent reduction in train fares, effective from September 23. The fare cut applies to all air-conditioned classes of express and mail trains, as well as the economy class of passenger trains.

In a related move, Pakistan Railways will soon launch 10 passenger trains under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The first phase of this initiative includes trains like the Karachi Express, Awam Express, and Hazara Express. Interested parties are encouraged to submit applications, with technical bids to be opened on the same day.

Additionally, the Sir Syed Express will resume operations on September 1, running between Karachi Cantt and Rawalpindi.
