Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has announced the establishment of 17 task forces aimed at achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as per ARY News report.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad, the Minister highlighted the importance of collaboration between experts from the government, political parties, and public and private sectors in driving progress toward these global objectives.
Collaboration Across Sectors Key to Achieving SDGs
Iqbal urged political forces and professionals across various sectors to unite and focus on steering the nation toward growth and prosperity.

He stressed that national stability can only be ensured by engaging in parliamentary and institutional discussions rather than street protests.
Focus on Poverty Eradication and Human Development
Highlighting the significance of human resource development, the Minister noted that without addressing poverty and hunger, sustainable progress is unattainable.
He further pointed out that 12 out of the 17 SDGs are directly linked to critical areas such as poverty eradication, quality education, gender equality, clean water, and affordable energy.
The newly formed task forces aim to align Pakistan’s efforts with global standards, advancing the country’s commitment to sustainable development and improving the overall quality of life for its citizens.
