The Punjab government is set to establish its first specialized cancer hospital, the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital.
In its initial phase, the project will feature 150 beds, including 100 for adults and 50 for children, along with dedicated chemotherapy facilities.
This first phase, spanning an area of 333 kanals, is projected to cost Rs. 3.26 billion.
The Infrastructure Development and Economic Planning (IDEP) will oversee the project and has invited applications from private contractors for the construction.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently laid the foundation stone for the Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad, which will offer advanced medical facilities for treating complex conditions, including lung, heart, kidney diseases, and cancer.
Covering approximately 800 kanals, the medical complex will also include state-of-the-art laboratories, nursing schools, and an air ambulance service for the rapid transport of critical patients.
