The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently invited applications for the job of head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team.

However, the BCCI has received thousands of fake applications. According to The Indian Express, the cricket board has received more than 3,000 such applications.

It should be noted that deadline for applying for the post ended yesterday and the Indian cricket board received thousands of applications in the names of Tendulkar, Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, and other former cricketers.

The Indian media failed to verify whether the BCCI has received any applications from genuine candidates for the job. It is pertinent to mention that this isn’t the first time that thousands of fake applicants applied for a BCCI job.

Back in 2022, the cricket board had also invited applications for the post of head coach, they had received around 5,000 applications from imposters using celebrity names.
