Mobile phone imports drop by 5% year-on-year in July 2024.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, $65 million in foreign exchange was spent on mobile phone imports in July, which is 5% less compared to July last year. In July of the previous year, $68 million was spent on mobile phone imports.

There was a 77% month-on-month decrease in mobile phone imports in July compared to June. In June, mobile phones worth $279 million were imported, which dropped to $65 million in July.
Furthermore, total imports of the machinery group in July amounted to $677 million, which is 37% higher than the $493 million recorded in July last year.
