The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has achieved a new financial milestone, raising Rs 250 million through the sale of four Markhor hunting permits. This significant revenue boost marks a notable success for both the government and local economies.

High Bids for Trophy Hunting

According to the KP Wildlife Department, the highest bids were placed for Toshi 1 and Toshi 2 regions, with revenue from two Markhors expected to surpass Rs 150 million. Furthermore, Rs 53.7 million will be generated from a hunt in the Kaiga region of Kohistan, while Rs 52.8 million is projected from the Gehrit region in Chitral.

Supporting Local Communities

Wildlife officials emphasized that 80% of the revenue from trophy hunting is shared with local communities, aiding economic growth in the areas. These funds are also channeled into wildlife conservation and community development, further promoting sustainable practices.
