Zayn’s UK tour, which also includes shows in London, Wolverhampton, Leeds, Newcastle, and Manchester, will continue as planned. However, the singer’s decision to reschedule these Edinburgh dates comes in the wake of ongoing mourning following the tragic death of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.
Zayn’s heartfelt loss
In September, Zayn Malik postponed the US leg of his tour after the heartbreaking passing of Liam Payne, who tragically died in Argentina following a fall from a hotel balcony at the age of 31. The loss has deeply affected Zayn, who expressed his grief in an emotional tribute on social media.
“I lost a brother when you left us,” Zayn wrote at the time. “I can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye properly, to tell you that I loved and respected you dearly.”
Zayn’s tribute continued, describing how he would forever cherish the memories of their time together, saying, “There are no words to justify or explain how I feel right now other than beyond devastated.” He ended the post with a message of love for his late friend: “I hope that wherever you are right now, you are good and are at peace, and know how loved you are.”
The US tour dates have also been postponed, with the rescheduled concerts now slated to begin in early 2025. Zayn’s decision to pause his touring schedule reflects the emotional toll of the loss, with fans expressing support and understanding for the delays.
Zayn’s career, once defined by his time in One Direction, has seen success as a solo artist with hits like “Pillowtalk.” His departure from the group in 2015 marked the beginning of his solo journey, though he and Payne remained close until the latter’s untimely death.
As the Stairway To The Sky tour continues, fans eagerly await the rescheduled dates, sending their love and support to Zayn as he navigates this difficult time.
