Islamabad was suddenly engulfed in a bout of extreme rain and hailstorm on Sunday. The downpour, accompanied by significant-sized hailstones, flooded streets and set off car alarms, prompting pedestrians to seek shelter under nearby shop roofs.
As swiftly as it had begun, the storm subsided after approximately ten minutes, with the skies gradually clearing and the rain tapering off. While the immediate impact of the storm may have lessened, the full extent of any damage incurred is yet to be assessed.
