IMDb star ranking system

IMDb’s rankings are based on data from over 250 million monthly visitors worldwide. The list measures the popularity of stars through page views, capturing trends across various film industries in India. Unlike previous years, which saw stars like Shah Rukh Khan dominate, the 2024 list showcases a diverse mix, underlining the shifting dynamics in Indian cinema.

Sobhita Dhulipala, who made her Hollywood debut with Monkey Man and garnered attention for her engagement to Naga Chaitanya, claimed the fifth spot. This ranking reflects the power of visibility in media, as stars who remain in the news for personal or professional reasons maintain their popularity.

While icons like Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continue to appear in the rankings due to their lasting influence, the 2024 list signifies a more balanced approach to recognising the rising stars of Indian cinema.
