Bollywood star Salman Khan’s security has been tightened following the killing of his close friend and former Indian minister Baba Siddique, who was shot dead on Saturday in Mumbai.

The actor and the former politician have been close friends for a long time.

Salman Khan and his family always used to attend Baba Siddique’s annual Iftar parties. They stood by one another in every thick and thin.

Despite the threats made directly to Salman Khan by the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the actor arrived at Siddique’s residence to stand in solidarity with the grieving family. He was also constantly on call with Zeeshan (Baba Siddique’s son), overlooking funeral arrangements.

When the actor was leaving Siddique’s house, making his way through the large crowd, he was seen teary-eyed.

Baba Siddique’s murder

A former member of India’s Congress Party, Baba Siddique was shot in Bandra, a famous neighborhood in Mumbai known where many Bollywood actors live.

The shooting happened even though there were high security measures because of Dussehra.

So far, two arrests have been made, and the Indian police are now on the lookout for others. Currently, the motive is unknown but Lawrence Bishnoi gang is reportedly behind this.

Bishnoi is currently in jail for his involvement in many murder cases, including the killing of the Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022.

Attack on Salman Khan by Bishnoi gang

Earlier this year, Bishnoi gang targeted Khan’s home in Mumbai. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

In the past, the group had tried to attack Khan as it was believed that the actor has killed blackbuck antelopes in the 90s in Rajasthan during his shoot for his film Hum Saath Saath Hain.

Khan, who has acted in films like Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan was sentenced to five years in jail but was later released.
