Channel 4’s South Asian Film Season 2024 is set to showcase the Pakistani film “Kamli” this September. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sarmad Khoosat and written by Fatimah Sattar, “Kamli” will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 1:45 am on Tuesday, 10 September.

The film, which premiered on June 3, 2022, has been lauded for its compelling narrative and breathtaking cinematography. Starring superstar Saba Qamar, alongside Sania Saeed, Nimran Bucha, “Kamli” is a poignant drama that delves into themes of love, loss, and longing in the rural landscapes of Pakistan.

At the Lux Style Awards 2023, the film earned the Film of the Year award in the Viewer’s Choice category, while Sarmad Khoosat was honored with the Best Film Director Critic’s Choice award for his outstanding direction.

The South Asian Film Season will also feature a diverse selection of films from across the region, including “Joram,” “Bhagwan Bharose,” “Barir Naam Shahana” (A House Named Shahana), “The World is Family,” “Something Like an Autobiography,” “Kottukkaali” (The Adamant Girl), and “Paradise.”
