A Romanian court has ruled that controversial social media personality Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, are to have their luxury cars returned following their seizure during a human trafficking investigation. The court’s decision, made on Tuesday, mandates that the vehicles be handed back to the brothers within 24 hours.

Seizure linked to human trafficking probe

Andrew Tate, initially charged with forming an organised criminal group, human trafficking, sex with a minor, and money laundering, has been under house arrest since August. His brother Tristan and four other suspects remain under investigation, but in a less severe form of custody than Andrew’s house arrest. All parties have denied any wrongdoing.

The seized vehicles, including a Lamborghini, Maybach, Maserati, two McLarens, and four Ferraris, were part of the investigation led by Romanian prosecutors. However, no mention has been made of other assets confiscated during the probe.

Eugen Vidineac, the Tates’ defense lawyer, said the ruling was expected, stating that it “could not have been different, considering the details of the case.”

Meanwhile, the brothers are also awaiting trial in a separate human trafficking and sexual exploitation case, currently under appeal at the Bucharest Court of Appeals.
