LAHORE: Famous Pakistani singer Jawad Ahmad is embroiled in a legal controversy after allegations of assaulting Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) officials during a power theft inspection.

Jawad Ahmad is accused of electricity theft that emerged involving his wife’s beauty salon in Johar Town, Lahore.

During a routine inspection by LESCO officials, the salon’s electricity meter was found to be tampered with, including a deliberate cut in the phase wire, a method often used to evade electricity charges.

According to LESCO’s statement, the situation escalated when Jawad Ahmad arrived at the scene with several individuals. The singer reportedly reacted aggressively, assaulted the officials, and forcibly took the tampered meter. He then left the premises with the meter and his wife.

LESCO subsequently disconnected the electricity supply to the salon and lodged a formal complaint at the Nawab Town Police Station.

An FIR was later registered, accusing Jawad Ahmad and his accomplices of attacking the LESCO team, obstructing official duties, and causing financial losses to the national exchequer.

LESCO officials claimed local police pressured them to settle the matter on-site, but after escalating the issue to senior authorities, legal action was initiated.

Injured LESCO staff were treated at a local hospital, and further investigations are ongoing.

Jawad Ahmad has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident or the allegations against him.
