Bollywood Feud Unfolds as Divya Slams Alia on Instagram
A simmering feud in Bollywood took a public turn on Saturday when actress and producer Divya Khossla Kumar took to Instagram to launch a sharp critique of fellow actor Alia Bhatt.
Divya accused Alia of inflating box office numbers for her recent film, Jigra, which was released on October 11.
In her Instagram stories, Divya alleged that Alia had manipulated ticket sales to create an illusion of success. Sharing a photo of an empty theatre, she captioned the post: “Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty… all theaters going empty everywhere.”
Comparisons between Divya’s ‘Savi’ and Alia’s ‘Jigra’
Divya’s post comes amid growing comparisons between Jigra and her own upcoming film Savi, which stars Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor. Savi revolves around a housewife attempting to break her husband out of a prison in England.

Similarly, in Jigra, Alia Bhatt portrays a woman who plans an elaborate jailbreak to rescue her brother from a prison.
Despite high expectations, Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala, has had a slow start at the box office. According to data from Sacnilk, the film collected ₹4.25 crore net on its opening day in India, with the majority of the revenue coming from the Hindi version.
The Telugu-dubbed version earned a meager ₹5 lakh, and some morning shows in regions like Warangal and Nizamabad reported zero occupancy.
Jigra, co-produced by Alia Bhatt under her Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is an emotional drama about the bond between siblings.
In the film, Alia plays Satya, a sister who embarks on a mission to rescue her brother Ankur, played by Vedang Raina, from a high-security prison in an authoritarian East Asian country. Ankur is on death row, falsely accused of drug trafficking, and Satya races against time to free him before his execution.
While the film’s initial box office performance has been lukewarm, the public sparring between Divya and Alia is drawing considerable attention, fueling speculation about deeper rivalries in the industry. As Bollywood watchers closely follow the box office trajectory of Jigra, Divya’s allegations have added a new layer of drama to the film’s release.
