Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, inaugurated the low-cost housing scheme under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP) in Jalozai, District Nowshera, on Wednesday.

The project spans 150 kanals and is estimated to cost Rs 3.3 billion, with plans for 1,320 apartments, each covering 780 square feet.

The housing scheme is targeted at individuals earning less than Rs 50,000 per month, with eligibility verified by NADRA and the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority. The federal government is providing a Rs300,000 subsidy per apartment, and the provincial government is contributing Rs400,000 to make the housing more affordable for middle- and low-income groups.

In the initial phase, 116 apartments have been allotted, while work on the remaining units continues. During his visit, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a sports complex at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Scheme in Jalozai. The facility, built at a cost of Rs 17 million, includes a squash court, futsal ground, artificial tennis and basketball courts, along with a 500-meter jogging track.

The central park spans 42 kanals, with 8 kanals designated for sports activities. Provincial cabinet members, including Mian Khaliq-ur-Rehman, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, and others, attended the event.
