The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Authority has strongly refuted recent social media rumors alleging that dog meat has been found in restaurants across the province.
The authority dismissed these claims as entirely false and misleading. The controversy began with social media posts suggesting that dog meat was discovered during inspections at various eateries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A spokesperson from the authority rejected these allegations, calling them a deliberate effort to incite public fear and damage the food sector’s reputation.

Director General Wasif Saeed addressed the situation, urging the public to rely on verified information rather than unfounded social media reports.
He assured that no such incidents involving dog meat have been reported, emphasizing that the authority conducts regular and rigorous inspections of food establishments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Saeed expressed concern over the spread of such misinformation, which he believes undermines public trust and causes unnecessary alarm.
