Lahore based journalist Ambreen Fatima has filed a formal complaint with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing, accusing a Facebook page of attempting to tarnish her reputation through a fabricated and defamatory video.

In a statement following her complaint, Fatima expressed her resolve to take legal action against those responsible for the video. “I will ensure this YouTuber faces justice so that in the future, no one dares to create false and baseless videos about anyone without thinking a thousand times,” Fatima said, vowing to hold the individuals accountable for their actions.

The video, posted by a YouTuber, falsely identified Fatima as the wife of Olympian and national hero Arshad Nadeem, sparking widespread online attention.

The controversial vlog, which contained defamatory remarks, was based on malicious propaganda surrounding Arshad Nadeem’s personal life. The video quickly gained traction on social media, amassing millions of views and being liked and shared by thousands of users.

However, the woman shown in the photos alongside Nadeem in the video was wrongly identified as his wife. The individual featured is, in fact, Ambreen Fatima, a well-known journalist.

The photos in question were taken during a recent event hosted by singer and philanthropist Abrar-ul-Haq, who had organised a ceremony at his residence last week to honor Arshad Nadeem for his achievements. At the event, Haq congratulated Nadeem and presented him with a cash reward of Rs 1.5 million. The images from this occasion were later manipulated and used in the defamatory vlog.
