Islamabad Police Increases Service Fees, Introduces New Charges

Islamabad police have decided to charge citizens up to Rs3,500 for the different services they provide through the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police.

In a notification issued by the Assistant Inspector General (AIG), General and Development, federal capital’s residents will be charged a specific fee for facilities offered by the police, including Police Character Certificate, Motorcycle Verification, Motor Car Verification and more.

These charges have been introduced upon the recommendation of the Executive Board of the Islamabad Police. The notification stated that citizens will be charged Rs1,000 for Police Character Certificate, Police General Verification, Foreigner’s Registration, and Motorcycle Verification.

It is important to note that both the police character certificate and police general verification used to be provided to citizens for free. The Character certificates are usually issued to students to get admission to educational institutions. Moreover, various organisations also require a police-issued character certificate before hiring for certain positions.

Furthermore, citizens will have to pay Rs3,500 for Motor Car Verification (Forensic), while the service fee for standard Motor Car Verification will be Rs1,500. Officials at different facilitation centres have been directed to collect the facilitation fees in accordance with the notified fees.
