The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training announced on Tuesday the launch of the Islamabad ‘Pink Bus Service’, which will operate 20 buses on 10 routes to assist female students, teachers, and other women traveling from rural to urban areas.
The service is expected to begin today. The buses will operate from 6 am to 9 am in the morning and from 1:30 pm to 4 pm in the afternoon, according to the notification issued by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

Islamabad Pink Bus Service Routes
- Route 1-A: Nilore to F-11/1 FGCHE&MS
- Route 1-B: Nilore (Ziarat Stop) to Secretariat
- Route 2-A: Bhara Kau to F-11/1 FGCHE&MS (via F-6)
- Route 2-B: Bhara Kau to F-11/1 FGCHE&MS (via G-6)
- Route 3-A: Humak to Secretariat
- Route 3-B: Humak to F-11/1 FGCHE&MS
- Route 4-A: I-14 (IJP Road) to Secretariat
- Route 4-B: I-14 (IJP Road) to F-11/1 FGCHE&MS
- Route 5-A: B-17 to Secretariat (via Margalla Avenue)
- Route 5-B: B-17 to Secretariat (via GT Road, G-14)
The Ministry of Education and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) have updated the colour of school and college buses from yellow to pink as part of this initiative. The goal is to “bridge the gap” between urban and rural areas and enhance educational access in rural regions.
