India defeated Pakistan on Saturday by 2-1 in their final round match of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, held at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, China.
India’s Harmanpreet Singh was the standout performer, scoring both goals for his team. Pakistan’s lone goal was scored early in the first quarter by Ahmed Nadeem.
Despite having several key opportunities, the Green Shirts were unable to capitalize, allowing India to maintain their advantage.
In the last 11 international hockey encounters between the two nations, India has emerged victorious in eight, while Pakistan has won three.
Both teams have already secured their spots in the semi-finals, and there is a strong possibility they could meet again in the final.
