Pakistan’s blockbuster drama serial Humsafar is reportedly being adapted for the stage in India, according to Indian media outlet Times Now.
Indian actor Imran Zahid has expressed interest in turning the popular TV show, starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, into a theatrical production. Zahid stated that he has approached the organizers of the Pakistani TV channel to bring the drama to Indian theatre.
All actors involved will be volunteering their time, as the production aims to promote cultural exchange rather than profit.Zahid is hopeful that once formalities are completed, the project will be finalized, and theatre dates announced.
Originally aired in 2011, Humsafar broke viewership records in Pakistan and gained a significant following in India and Bangladesh.
