Mohsin Habib Warraich, a close associate of former Pakistani chief Lt. General (Retd) Faiz Hameed, has reportedly fled Pakistan to London to avoid an investigation into a military trial concerning corruption and misuse of power.

Warraich, the son of former MNA and Defense Production Minister Major (Retd) Habibullah Warraich, is a central figure in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam, involving over Rs2 billion.

Moreover, Warraich, who previously lived in exile in London from 2010 until General Faiz secured his return to Pakistan, is believed to have managed business deals on behalf of Faiz from 2014 onwards. Their relationship reportedly strengthened during Faiz’s tenure at the UK Royal Defense College, facilitated by a familial connection between their fathers.

Pakistani intelligence sources confirmed that Warraich reached London via Dubai. The investigation centers around Faiz’s alleged misuse of power during his time as head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency, including the illegal acquisition of a private property development business.

General Faiz, who led the ISI during Imran Khan’s administration, retired early in December 2022. During his tenure, Faiz allegedly facilitated Warraich’s business activities, both domestically and internationally, including securing a lucrative arms deal with Russia and monopolizing the sale of the Sputnik COVID-19 vaccine in Pakistan.

Warraich, often seen in a Rolls Royce with a distinctive “W777 MOH” number plate, is believed to hold several assets globally, with intelligence agencies suspecting that General Faiz has a hidden interest in these properties.

In addition, Warraich’s wife, Beenish Khan, daughter of former Health Minister Mohammad Nasir Khan, is also under scrutiny for her role in the NICL case and her luxurious lifestyle.
