Fourth mpox case reported in KP

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reported another case of mpox brining the total number of total number of cases in the province to four.

Dr Arshad Ali, Director of Public Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported that the latest case involves a 47-year-old patient who recently returned from abroad.

The patient showed symptoms during an airport screening and was transferred to the Police Services Hospital. The Public Health Reference Laboratory has now confirmed the diagnosis of monkeypox.

Dr Ali assured the public that the patient’s condition was stable, and he was receiving treatment at the hospital. The patient is from Peshawar, and no local cases have been reported so far.

This new case raises the total number of monkeypox cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to four for this year.
