Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, has announced a special gift of 5 liters of petrol for rickshaw and motorcycle riders to celebrate independence day .
However, it is pertinent to mention that the free petrol is only for the residents of Chiniot, which is also Sheikh’s hometown.
According to Dawn News, Minister Sheikh emphasized that independence is a great blessing and that our homeland is the result of unparalleled sacrifices by our ancestors.
He highlighted the responsibility to set aside differences and work collectively for the country’s development, stability, and security.

On the 77th Independence Day, he urged everyone to commit to upholding the principles of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and to diligently and honestly fulfill their duties towards the nation’s progress.
Last night, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved a reduction in the petrol price by Rs8.47 per litre and Rs6.7 for high-speed diesel (HSD), respectively.
