Ex-GB CM criticises misinformation campaign against green Tourism Initiative

Former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafizur Rahman has strongly criticised those spreading negative propaganda against the Green Pakistan Tourism Project.

Former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafizur Rahman said, “I was not here in 2022, nor am I associated with any officer of the Green Tourism Project. However, our own official Asifullah, who is a capable officer, i will meet him and get more details about the project.

“I have assessed the project assets valued at approximately ten billion rupees. A three billion rupee investment will be made, with 20% of the profit going into the Gilgit-Baltistan treasury, while the profit-sharing rate will be 35,” he added.

He further explained that the resorts will be leased for 30 years and returned to Gilgit-Baltistan after that period.

He mentioned that if the resorts offer a 20% profit share and 35% interest, and even if 10 crores come into the treasury in a year, it would be a profitable deal.

He said that green tourism is being presented as an issue; some people are acting out of ignorance, but some are trying to create a narrative out of it. I believe that negative propaganda against any institution of the country should not be done; these are our institutions and of this country.
