The Education Department has imposed a strict ban on all teacher leave until February 2025. Maternity leave now requires a certificate from the Surgeon General.

Furthermore, misuse of leave, especially with false certification, will lead to termination under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline, and Accountability Act, 2006.

The Education Department has also banned all non-obligatory prayers and recitations during class and duty hours, allowing only obligatory prayers. Violations will result in disciplinary action.

Moreover, new directives for government schools include prohibiting physical punishment, mandating Girl Guides and Boy Scouts activities, and enforcing stricter controls on student attendance and admissions.

School heads must now provide daily reports on the lectures given by teachers and submit a monthly consolidated report.

The department is cracking down on fraudulent admissions in grades 9 through 12, with school heads and class teachers held accountable for false enrollment numbers. A 75% minimum attendance is now required for students to sit for board exams. The collection of admission fees for board exams is also under scrutiny.
