CPL 2024: 3 Pakistani players sign for new franchise

The Pakistan trio of Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, and Fakhar Zaman will join the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons for the CPL 2024. The new franchise has also signed Australian offspinner Chris Green and Afghan allrounder Azmatullah Omarzai for their debut season.

The Falcons have further boosted their squad by signing West Indies players Brandon King and Fabian Allen, as well as 17-year-old batter Jewel Andrew, who played in the Under-19 World Cup earlier this year. So far, the Falcons have signed 12 players, leaving them with five more to sign during the draft in July.

Other notable signings for CPL 2024 include Tim David and Jason Roy with Trinbago Knight Riders, Heinrich Klaasen with St Lucia Kings, and Wanindu Hasaranga and Tristan Stubbs with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons replace the Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL. Antigua previously hosted the Antigua Hawksbills franchise during the first two CPL seasons before it was replaced by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2015.

CPL 2024 will run from August 28 to October 6, with games returning to Antigua for the first time in ten years. Other venues include Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago, with the final hosted at the National Stadium in Providence, Guyana.
