KARACHI: Gold prices held steady on Wednesday, with a tola priced at Rs275,200 and 10-gram gold at Rs235,940, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

Even in the international market, gold prices remained steady, with the rates pegged at $2,640 per ounce, inclusive of a $20 premium against both the exports and imports. A Rs700 poached increase was recently observed in the price of gold per tola as in the case of local markets yesterday.

Silver began to show minor instability in the local markets, still holding at Rs3,400 per tola.

Moreover, gold prices remained stable as investors focused on upcoming labor data from the United States and comments from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell that may provide extra insight into the future path of monetary policy for the central bank.
