“Pleasure meeting PTI leaders, and congratulations to @OmarAyubKhan on his appointment as Leader of the Opposition,” Marriott wrote in her post, stressing the importance of collaboration among Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) to address Pakistan’s critical issues, particularly focusing on economic reform for the country’s prosperity.

Responding to Marriott’s tweet, PTI spokesperson Raoof Hassan described the meeting as an “absolute pleasure” and highlighted discussions on various topics of mutual interest. He expressed eagerness to continue engaging with the UK High Commissioner and her team.

Hassan, who has previously criticised Marriott’s activities in Pakistan, including her visit to the Election Commission of Pakistan, reiterated his concerns about foreign interference in the country’s affairs. He called for respecting Pakistan’s sovereignty and urged Marriott to consider public sentiment in her engagements.

The meeting underscores ongoing diplomatic exchanges between the UK and Pakistan, with a focus on economic cooperation and political dialogue.
