Bella Hadid, the world-renowned model and staunch advocate for Palestine, is preparing to take legal action against Adidas after the sportswear giant launched a controversial campaign.

The campaign, which featured a retro sneaker inspired by the 1972 Munich Olympics, has distressed Hadid. The Munich Massacre, where 11 Israeli athletes were taken hostage and killed, and Hadid believes that linking it to a commercial product contradicts her values and stance on violence.

Adidas, initially featuring Hadid in the campaign, has since issued an apology. The company stated they had no intention of making any political or historical statements with their promotion and have subsequently dropped Hadid from the campaign following backlash from pro-Israel groups.

Critics, including the American Jewish Committee, have accused Hadid of anti-Semitism due to her support for Palestinian relief efforts in Gaza. It appears Hadid was not fully aware of the campaign’s implications when she signed on, and she is now holding Adidas accountable for what she perceives as a misstep that goes against her principles.
