The Punjab government has warned residents about new traffic enforcement measures. From now on, traffic violators will receive challans along with evidence, such as photographs, and face substantial fines, all facilitated through Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Punjab has introduced Artificial Intelligence and modern electronic traffic policing. The new system uses advanced cameras to check smog-emitting vehicles.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed transport authorities to target vehicles emitting excessive smoke. Challans will be issued using Punjab Safe City Cameras, which are equipped with advanced technology.

AI technology is now being employed to monitor smoke emissions from vehicles, motorcycles, and auto-rickshaws using advanced cameras. The Lahore Traffic Police have already issued hundreds of challans for excessive smoke from various types of vehicles, including trucks, buses, cars, wagons, auto-rickshaws, and motorcycles.

In Lahore, a new initiative includes capturing photos and videos of vehicles emitting smoke. Each electronic ticket issued now features an image of the offending vehicle, providing clear evidence of the violation.
