What is the reality behind the police protest against the army in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa? Why is the government remaining a silent spectator? Journalist Irfan Khan has clarified the matter.

In his vlog, senior journalist Irfan Khan from Azad Digital explains that protests have been ongoing in Lakki Marwat for the past three days. These protests are being led by the police force, which demands that the police be given powers to combat terrorism in the district and that the army stationed there be withdrawn.

It is important to note that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a police force of 127,000 personnel, headed by the Inspector General of Police (IG). However, the IG has yet to address these issues. The question arises: If only a few hundred personnel from one district are making these demands, are their demands justified? And if they are, what actions have the police chief taken in this regard?

Furthermore, Khan questions whether terrorism is only a problem in Lakki Marwat or if other districts, including North Waziristan, Tank, and Bajaur, are safe from it. The portrayal on social media suggests that the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force has risen and revolted, though this is not the case.

The fundamental question is whether the provincial government is responsible for internal matters in the province. Is there any effective government in the province? Has the head of the police force been involved in these issues and aware of their sensitivity? If so, the provincial government and police chief should be taking their personnel into confidence, but this does not seem to be happening.
