Authorities issue warning as heavy rain expected in KP

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), there’s a forecast of rain accompanied by thunderstorms expected in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the upcoming days. Moreover, between May 21 and 27, daytime temperatures across most districts of the province are anticipated to increase by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.

To address potential risks, the PDMA has urged district administrations to promptly implement measures to mitigate any adverse impacts arising from dusty winds, storms, or thunderstorms. They’ve specifically advised the public to avoid proximity to power lines, signboards, and billboards during strong winds.

In light of these weather conditions, it’s strongly recommended for both tourists and local residents in vulnerable upper areas to stay updated on weather forecasts and adhere to precautionary guidelines.

To ensure effective communication, district administrations in sensitive regions are instructed to disseminate weather-related information to the local population in their native languages.
