An Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur.

The hearing regarding the cases against PTI leaders from May 9 took place in the court today (Saturday).

Details regarding Gandapur’s arrest warrants:

During the hearing, Gandapur’s lawyer submitted a request for exemption from attendance. However, the judge rejected the request and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Gandapur.

Arrest warrants have also been issued for former deputy speaker Punjab Assembly Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Istehkam-e-Pakistan leader Aamer Mehmood Kiani, PTI’s Raja Rashid Hafeez as well.

Whereas, the court has declared ex-PTI leader Umer Tanveer Butt a wanted person over his continuous non-attendance at the court.

It is pertinent to mention that PTI is set to hold a rally today in Lahore and this development took place just hours before the rally.

PTI’s rally in Lahore:

Earlier, Lahore police arrested over 20 workers and supporters of PTI.

According to the police officials, the PTI’s supporters pelted stones at their vehicle and damaged it when the cops reached there.

The city administration permitted the PTI to hold its rally in Lahore from 3 to 6pm at Ring Road’s Kahna area today.
