Pakistani music sensation Aima Baig has announced plans to launch a nationwide ‘MeToo’ campaign following her recent Umrah pilgrimage. The singer revealed her intentions through her official Instagram account, expressing a renewed commitment to empowering women and addressing issues of abuse.

In her Instagram story, Baig shared that her pilgrimage had instilled her with a newfound sense of purpose and strength. She expressed her determination to protect women from deceitful and predatory individuals, stating, “There are many predatory individuals I’ve observed who have ruined the lives of young girls, but for various reasons, I remained silent until now.”

Baig acknowledged her previous silence with regret but is now resolved to spearhead a ‘Me Too’ movement to amplify women’s voices and challenge societal injustices. “I will speak up for women,” she declared, “and through this movement, I want to send a message that we are not toys or jokes; we are the reason for men’s existence in this world, and we deserve respect.”

She called on women to raise their voices against injustice and abuse, highlighting the physical and mental distress many girls endure due to mistreatment. Baig underscored her commitment to action, stating, “I have a list of names of those who have wronged women. We will work with evidence and support all women.”
