ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has announced the establishment of 24-hour passport processing counters at National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Mega Centers across Pakistan.
Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, already has a 24-hour processing facility in place.
While following the instructions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the NADRA Mega Centers in Karachi, specifically in Nazimabad and Siemens Chowrangi Site, now feature 10 passport processing counters that will operate round the clock, seven days a week.
Now the additional centers in Karachi and Lahore are also operating without any time restrictions
Director General of Immigration and Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, confirmed that the 24/7 passport counters are also being expanded nationwide.
According to Qazi, the delays in passport issuance have been fully resolved, with an emphasis on providing hassle-free services to the public.
Earlier this month NADRA announced the launch of a new B-Form with enhanced security features for children aged 10 and above. Starting January 15, the new B-Form will be issued in phases.
NADRA is also working on enhancements for the Pak ID mobile app and intends to issue digital IDs to all Pakistani citizens soon.
