ISLAMABAD: Authorities have filed two additional cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership and its supporters, increasing the total number of cases to seven linked to the recent Sangi Jani rally.
One of the new cases was registered at the Sangi Jani police station, and the other at the Ramna police station. The Sangi Jani case includes charges under Sections 324, 341, 186, 353, 148, 149, and 506(ii) of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as Section 8 of the Public Assembly Act. The FIR names PTI members Amir Dogar, Owais, Syed Shah Ahmed, Naseem Ali Shah, Yusuf Khan, and 60 unidentified individuals.
The complaint alleges that the accused assaulted police officers and fired directly at them.

The second case, filed on September 10 at Ramna, involves 25 individuals charged under Sections 341, 147, 149, 353, 186, 109, and 506(ii). The FIR accuses them of blocking roads in G-11 while carrying PTI flags, party caps, sticks, iron rods, and stones.
The Ramna FIR names Sheikh Muhammad Waqas Akram, Sher Afzal Marwat, Shoaib Shaheen, and others, who have been summoned to appear in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC). Police have arrested nine suspects, while others fled the scene.
The FIR also includes unnamed senior PTI leaders, and reports indicate that protesters resisted and blocked roads as directed.
