The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notices to seven illegal housing societies.

These schemes include Gilgit City in Mouza Kohala, Mehmood Town (K & M Construction and Developers Pvt. Ltd.) in Mouza Misriot, Hamdard City in Mouza Dheri, Top View City in Mouza Piswal, Wanni in Tehsil Taxila, Green Hurtus in Mouza Chakri, an illegal land subdivision near Gandhara City, and Farm Land Estate in Mouza Adyala near DHA, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi.

The notices were issued for illegally marketing and booking plots through various media channels. According to an RDA spokesperson,  that these illegal housing societies are misleading the public into purchasing plots under false pretences, resulting in significant financial losses for buyers.

To address this, the RDA has issued notices and instructed the MP&TE Directorate to take legal action against illegal advertisements and marketing. The Director General of RDA, Kinza Murtaza, has directed that First Information Reports (FIRs) be filed against the owners of these fraudulent schemes.

He stated that the MP&TE Directorate has issued a warning to the public to steer clear of illegal housing schemes and avoid falling victim to unauthorized offers. The developers of these schemes are unlawfully advertising and selling plots without RDA approval, which breaches rule 46 (1) of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.
