The government is working on installing a firewall to control fake news and anti-state propaganda on social media, which was successfully tested recently.
In this regard, senior journalist Hammad Hasan, speaking to Azaadigital, said that the Chinese government has informed Pakistan that there is a strong possibility that the firewall system will be fully installed in two to three months, likely by November.

He further stated that it is not that the firewall is of poor quality, but rather that China had developed this firewall specifically for its own country, which was only effective on Zong’s network.
Furthermore, technical experts are working further on it, and it is being adapted to support other networks as well, which will be completed in the next two to three months.
