Zimbabwe’s national cricket team has made history by setting a new world record for the highest team total in T20 International cricket, scoring 344 runs in their 20 overs during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional Qualifier B.

The monumental performance took place at the Ruaraka Sports Club Ground in Nairobi, where Zimbabwe’s batting lineup dominated Gambia from the very start.

Record-breaking innings led by Sikandar Raza

Zimbabwe’s captain, Sikandar Raza, led the charge with a sensational knock of 133* off just 43 balls, hitting 15 sixes and maintaining a strike rate of 309.30.

His powerful innings were complemented by contributions from Brian Bennett (50 off 26), wicketkeeper Tadiwanashe Marumani (62 off 19), and Clive Madande, who blasted 53* from just 17 deliveries. This collective effort shattered the previous record of 314/3 set by Nepal against Mongolia in 2023.

With this achievement, Zimbabwe now holds the top spot for the highest team score in T20I cricket, surpassing notable totals by Nepal, India, and Afghanistan.
